Modular construction is rapidly being recognized as the most efficient and cost effective method of construction. Check out a recent project by one of our friends at Signature Building Systems and finished by Hueber Breuer Construction.
Congratulations on a job well done.
Centennial Hall was constructed to provide housing to undergraduate students at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY. It was built at 4 and 5 stories with 9ft. ceilings and boasts three unique fully furnished apartment designs spread out in two wings. The 112,000 square foot dormitory houses 452 students providing them amenities such as lounge areas, indoor bike storage and a laundry room. The builder and developers were chiefly focused on “green” and eco-friendly building products. Below are a few key features of this 184 box project:
- All Energy-star lighting
- Closed-cell insulation in all walls and ceilings
- All Low-VOC paints, coatings, sealants and adhesives
- ThermoLite windows throughout; operable windows in living units
- Water-source heat pump in each living unit
- Low-flow plumbing fixtures throughout
Students can choose from three different apartment layouts which include 4 private bedrooms, 2 private bedrooms or a shared bedroom. The full bathrooms include Marmoleum floors, surface mount medicine cabinets and granite vanities. The kitchens include Energy Star refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers and granite countertops.
This project was manufactured by Signature Building Systems of PA and finished on site by Hueber Breuer Construction.
